A tranquil spot in the heart of Amsterdam with many household conveniences and shops nearby as well as a friendly and helpful greeter. The bay window is a great place to snuggle up with a book. It has good internet access. A great place to stay.

This apartment is amazing, everything is very well presented and it's extremely comfortable to stay in.

Everything you need is provided and you feel right at home straight away.

Overall though, the location is best part!

Just spent 5 days at the appartment. The first impression was that it is much bigger than it looks on the pictures. I really felt as if a friend had lend me his place for a few days. Everything very well decorated, fully equipped, perfect location and beatiful views, gigantic bed and very comfortable sofas... I could stay at the appartment and the beautiful city of Amsterdam forever... Feel so lucky to have found it, really.

I stayed in the apartment late November 2010 and I have to say it was one of the best apartments I have ever stayed at. It was spotless, clean, big and had tids and bits of very nice surprises all over.

Lex, Marijke thank you for the wonderful hosting!

I've been visiting Amsterdam for 20 years and this is indeed one of the finest hotel alternatives I've stayed in.

The apartment offers all the comforts a traveler could desire: Quiet and convenient location, washer/dryer, fast wireless internet, shelves of books and movies, full kitchen, and very comfortable queen bed. All amenities are within a few minutes walking distance including grocery store, cheese shops, restaurants, and the Nieuwmarkt with its wonderful organic farmers market. It's so nice to be able to cook while on the road.

But what really puts this apartment in a class of its own is its tranquil location with its spectacular canal views (three canals!). Swans and ducks glide by throughout the day, and the bells from the nearby Zuiderkerk add a special touch to the old-world charm of the area. If you're lucky you'll hear a delightful bell concert which I believe is performed Thursday afternoons.

Thank you again for a wonderful, relaxing stay. See you soon.

EVERYTHING!! The apartment was spotless and the pantry filled with coffee and cooking items which saved us a lot of money. The appliances and kitchen are all great. Love the bath, the bay window and the sofa bed - what a great view. We had a few electrical problems while we were there but they were dealt with very quickly, with little disturbance to us. The bottle of wine (with more in the cupboard if needed) also a thoughtful gesture. We hope to be back at The Red Tulip soon.

We're just back from a New Year in Amsterdam and our first stay in this lovely apartment. It's very central - on a beautiful canal - and is both spacious and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed the coffee maker! Highly recommended.

Just back from another great stay in Amsterdam.
stayed at this apartment again, always very clean and ready for our arrival, the greeter is very friendly and is there on hand if you need her during your stay. the new bed is also very comfy. What we luv about this place is it is very central, 5 mins from Dam square but set just of the main walk so it is peaceful too. the view from the windows is very picturesque and you could just sit there for hours watching the world pass by.
We have stayed at this apartment many times now and it is the only place i would stay in Amsterdam. 5 star accomadation and 5 star treatment just wish it was mine.

Great, great, great! I'm sitting at the table of this apartment right now, overlooking two canals outside the large bay windows. While this apartment is very centrally located the area is very serene and picturesque. The street is very quiet with sunlight falling through a canopy of trees. The apartment has a large main room, full kitchen, and separate bathroom and bedroom. There is a wonderful supermarket about 2 blocks away with everything you need for supplies. Several times a day there is a very pleasant bell concert from the church down the street. I love it here.

Well!! Your wonderful appartment exceeds all of our expectations and more! Everything was wonderful, a dream, clean and cozy place, perfectly centered; going back there between walks/visits was so nice! The view, OMG! The bed! Never woke up with my usual back and shoulder pain (I was a bit apprehensive of the water bed idea)! In fact, this place was almost too nice; often, we would not get out of it until very late afternoon! LOL Our wonderful trip was such a happy, fun and romantic one! Having the privilege to stay at Red Tulip made it unbeatable! We want to go back to Amsterdam so bad but only to stay at this enchanted nest! Many thanks to you Lex and very high hope to repeat the best trip of our life!

Hello
A simple small word to say to you in which point we appreciate our stay in Amsterdam. The apartment is really very well. The view is exceptional, the ideal place to discover the city by walk. Really, everything is completed. We shall not hesitate to recommend it if the opportunity arises.
A special thanks to Marijke forher warm acceuil and her availability.
We shall leave on Wednesday in morning by taking with us of very beautiful souvenirs.

Hi

Its the first time that we stayed in an apartment in Amsterdam and it was a great experience, especially compared to a hotel.

The facilities were in good condition and very complete. The location was incredible and close to all the interesting places.

Only thing to note is that the water bed is not for everybody. Thank goodness they have an extremely good sofa bed and that is where we ended up sleeping. Comes with a cot too if you have kids.

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Red Tulip.
We checked out hundreds of places online and found the Red Tulip to be the best. It is very clean, has all the amenities, priced good and the location is great. The greeter is very helpful. We really enjoyed the canal views. Lex gave us the name of a driver, Piet, and he was wonderful. We didn't have to be at the airport until late afternoon and Piet picked us up and we toured the contryside. I would stay here again if we make it back to Amsterdam.

Thanks Cheryl & Wayne from Canada

We have been coming to the Dam for 16yrs and staying in different hotels, we came accross this apartment last year and i must say its the best find we have discovered in Amsterdam. We ahve know been their twice and hoping to go back again soon, the apartment is always clean and ready for our arrival. The location of the apartment is very central and you have local supermarkets within a 5 min walk, you can sit in the window with a fantastic views overlooking the canals and watch the world go by, with plenty of music selections, dvd's and their is even a dishwasher so you don't have to wash up.
The Greeter is polite and will be there for you if needed, so you dont need to think that you are going all alone, there is someone to contact if there is a problem.
I would reccomend this to anyone and believe me i'm very fussy on were i stay, just like a home from home.

I stayed here for 15 days or so in 2004. This apt is fantastic. Great location....scenery and just far enough off of the path to avoid the heavy tourist traffic. I will be coming back to this one! ~M

We discovered a new Amsterdam! Previous visits, staying in hotels, had failed to uncover the real city. From this delightful apartment, with its bay window overlooking a quiet canal, we went shopping, drank endless coffees, consumed mountains of food, took photos or just sat at the window and watched the world go by.
The apartment is well furnished and the jacuzzi tub is to die for after a day walking around.
The complimentary bottle of wine was most welcome!

Greeter was really friendly and helpful and flexible about check-in times and leaving our bags. That made everything run really smoothly. I really liked the fact that everything was provided to make for a home from home - salt and things in the kitchen, enough toilet paper, even a note saying we could use the phone and a complimentary bottle of wine - it was all very welcoming and generous.

This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the apartmet and it definitely won't be the last! We love everything about it. The view is fabulous and it's on the best looking street in Amsterdam.. Close to all the action but a nice place to come home to for some peace and quiet... It's so well maintained, we always feel welcome here..

I'm sitting at the dining table in the Red Tulip on the last day of our trip and it's been a fantastic place to stay.

A short distance to the lively parts of the city, but tucked away on a beautiful side canal. Off the main routes in a comfortable, well equipped apartment (The photo's do not do it justice.)

A good selection of entertainment (there's a jack to hook in your MP3 player to the stereo too), well equipped kitchen (read the instructions for the cooker or you'll likely burn stuff), comfortable furniture. All Good, imho.

There's a Church nearby that has an Olympic bell-ringing squad, but I believe most of the Churches in the city are similarly fond of pulling the bell ropes. A bit of a shock at first, but it becomes part of the background very quickly. They're actually quite good (they were doing Westlife numbers on Thursday).

All in all, a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to stay, everything you need in this spacious and luxurious apartment. Shops and restaurants easy to walk to, yet the apartment is in a quiet area. So much better than staying in a hotel, we got up each morning and had a leisurely breakfast at our own pace. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, thanks Lex!

My girlfriend and i spent easter at the Red Tulip and i can honestly say that it is even better than it looks. Location is perfect, very near Munt and Neuimarket, but on a quiet canal with a beautiful view. It snowed the whole time we were there, which was a good excuse to visit the nearby brownbars and spend the odd evening cooking in the excellent kitchen with fab breakfast bar. Good selection of, 'ahem..dvds and cd's, Dennis Brown was the soundtrack to our stay, nice choice Lex.
If you are thinking of staying here then i couldnt recommend it enough, i will definately stay here again next time i come. Fantastic!!!

We were much impressed by the information on your website which we saw last summer. We quickly booked our flight and made a trip in the fall season.
The taxi reference was very helpful. We were met at the airport and brought to the apartment. The driver confirmed, “In Amsterdam, the bicycle rules.”

Our host on arrival at the apartment ,Roland, greeted us and gave us a tour. The apartment has that great view in a city filled with them. Two canals!

All facilities are there that you could want. The apartment is long and thus permits more privacy. The kitchen counter top is a great common spot. We set the laptop computer on the counter and used the complimentary internet.

My wife and I had a restful stay at Raamgracht, using it as a home base to explore the rest of town, and surrounding cities. There is a major bicycle rental, “MacBike” about 350 metres away, and an Albert Heijn grocery, 250m. Whatever you are looking for is only steps away.

We liked it so much that we are going back again soon, to see Amsterdam in the Spring.

We have been coming to Amsterdam once or twice a year for the last 15 years and have stayed at hotels and apartments all over Amsterdam, that is until we happily discovered this apartment about 4 years ago. It is in the perfect location in Amsterdam, close to everything, safe, quiet and beautiful. Each time we revisit we find something new like a newer, larger TV, new furnishings, etc. It just keeps getting better and the people from the owner to the greeter couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Take a look at the pictures to see how beautiful it is. We look forward to our 5th or 6th trip (we have lost count) this May to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in our "home away from home." You won't be disappointed!

Hi.
We would recommend this appartment from every point of view. The views from the windows were great, you could snuggle up with a book and just watch the world go by!! Set in a very central location and within walking distance to practically everything. Apparment was clean and had a great selection of both reading and DVD material!!
Also the water bed went down a treat with the kids!! Only downer was could not work out how to use the oven!! The greeter was lovely and on time to meet at the appartment and a BIG thank you for letting us check in earlier than is stated in your website. This was a great favour with the kids who were soooo tired.
Anyways we travel to Amsterdam 3 times a year and we always try to stay in a different appartment each time but his was so far our favourite. A great website and well run.
Regards
Wendy Newman from London
